Hello,
Would like to start a post regarding recreational toys having battery fires. Last year in Cambridge we had an electric bicycle, an electric scooter and an electric skateboard. we also had two laboratory research battery fires. All of these fires were relatively small, however, did produce significant damage and challenges.
Please reply with your stories.
Thanks,

Kingston had an incident a little over a year ago where a hoverboard was on a 3rd floor, charging. Unit caught fire. Thankfully the family was home, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Deputy Hatch from Kingston FD may have more specifics about the incident.

Had an incident last year involving recreational toy batteries. Reported as a battery explosion (failure) causing a smoke condition and high CO levels throughout the house. Home owner somehow managed to grab the batteries and charger to remove it from the house prior to our arrival. This kept the fire from spreading to other combustibles in the area.
3 batteries connected to the parallel charger and a 4th connected directly to the balance charging device that powered all the devices. One of the batteries on the parallel charger failed and exploded burning the device and the other 2 batteries, the 4th battery and the balance charger were not damaged.
All 4 batteries were the same model, size and amp rating:
Charging source was Thunder Multi Output T6x4 320w Professional Balance Charger/Discharger. https://www.hobbypartz.com/73p-t6x4-charger.html
Balance charger was connected to a Smun Ximeng Electric AS-350-12 AC/DC switching power supply which was not damaged. Power supply was connected to the parallel charger. http://www.smun.com/en/Catalogue/mini%20350w%2012v%20power%20supply-179.html
The parallel charger was burnt beyond recognition.
Batteries were Turnigy Nano-Tech 1800mah 65-130C Discharge 1.8 High Discharge LI-PO Battery. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-nano-tech-1800mah-3s-65-130c-lipo-pack.html
